2016 was certainly full of drama. We began the year with a volatile start to the stock market and concluded it with a post-election, year-end rally. We saw one of the most contentious elections in the U.S. We said goodbye to some well-known entertainers. Internationally, the British voted to leave the European Union and that led to the resignation of Prime Minister David Cameron. All of these you already knew…..so here are some things that happened during 2016 that you may not be aware of.
Team Development
Valerie passed her Series 65 examination last summer while being a full-time college student and a captain on the school basketball team. Series 65 – Uniform Investment Adviser Law Examination is the pre-requisite for those who want to hold themselves to the public as an investment advisor representative. In simple terms, Valerie can begin providing investment advice for a living. To learn more about this exam, visit the FINRA website.
Henry is halfway through his pursuit of the Accredited Estate Planner® designation. The personal finance advisory world continues to grow rapidly. The industry is on the right path as consumers are becoming more aware that they should be working with professionals who hold designations such as the Certified Financial PlannerTM and Chartered Financial Analyst® marks. Estate planning is an integral part of a personal financial plan, and Henry believes that our clients will benefit with this added expertise. To learn about more the AEP® designation, visit the National Council of Estate Planner & Councils’ website.
Milestones
Roger has been in the business for almost four decades! This December marked the 30th year since he passed the Series 63 examination.
Speaking of examinations, Henry passed his Series 65 ten years ago! We are surely putting on more wrinkles.
Family
Earlier this year Rachel and her husband, Dave, celebrated their 25th anniversary in Hawai’i. That was their first trip to the Aloha State and they are sure to visit again in the near future.
Our Gratitude
We do thank you for all of your support and trust throughout the year. At times like these, it is important to stay focused on your goals, making prudent decisions while not falling victim to the hype of the media. Please let us know if you would like to discuss how the current market environment might be affecting your goals.
If you have friends or family members who are concerned about the market volatility or their financial health, we will be more than happy to speak with them. It is our pleasure to be a resource to the people who are important to you.
Wishing all of you a prosperous new year!
